The old page with frames got boring and was a pain to add new things to.
So I figured, why not start from scratch.
In this new design I went for tables since I thought it easier to expand and update.
The basic design of the buttons was made with GraphicConverter on my PowerBook 1400 (for those interested,
it's upgraded with a Crescendo G3 333 MHz processor card). Then I "brushed" them up with Smurf
1.05 on my Milan (could had done the basic design on the Milan as well, but GraphicConverter has a palette with
the 216 "websafe" colours, and I wanted to be sure that they look the same on all platforms).
The badge on the upper left was made in Positive Image 1.12 using the font Georgia, freely available from
Microsoft, and then processed in Smurf with the "Bump It Up" module using the picture as both bump map and
texture.
The background picture was also made with Positive Image and the font Georgia and then I split it in two and
spliced it together so that it shouldn't look to square. If you look at the left edge of the browsers window you will
see what I mean.
The actual HTML coding was done in Joe 1.47 and since I'm running Mint, I just press update in Joe, and, hey
presto! the pages are updated in CAB and I immidietly see if I'm on the right track. It's a method of working that I
can recommend.
